Georgian-Armenian law dialogue
Date: 29-04-2024
on April 29-30, a working meeting took place in Yerevan, involving representatives from Yerevan State University's Faculty of Law and the Law School of the University of Georgia (including Prof. Bachana Jishkariani and Law School Manager Rati Akhalaia). The meeting focused on the internationalization and Europeanization of Georgian and Armenian criminal law. In addition, meetings were held with representatives from various non-governmental organizations, which are actively involved in the process of monitoring and reforms in various fields of law. The project was implemented within the framework of the cooperation between the Institute of Georgian, German and International Criminal Law and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, the purpose of which was to deepen academic cooperation and dialogue in the field of law between Georgia and Armenia, which is important in the way of the Europeanization of the legal systems of both countries. This is already the second regional project implemented with the involvement of our institute, with plans for further expansion in the future.
